Michael Detmar, Professor at the ETH in Zurich, will speak at a seminar on june 28 2018 in Bordeaux. He is an internationally recognized expert on lymphangiogenesis specially related to cancer. Detailed informations will come later.

We have published a consensus paper on methodologies in angiogenesis research. This is a multi-author article which should be highly cited.

The Concept in Cancer Seminar Series will include vascular biology and will be from now on ” Concepts in Cancer and Vascular Biology”.
The laboratory is pleased to announce that Clotilde Billotet will defend her HDR, entitled “Molecular mechanisms involved in tumor progression and invasion” on 23th March 2018 at 1.30pm in the amphitheatre of building B6 (University of Bordeaux, Talence Campus).

The ARC Foundation in partnership with the newspaper Sud Ouest presents “Rendez-Vous Recherche” with the aim of encouraging contact and exchange between ARC-supported research scientists and the public.

A new book will be published in April 2018 by Springer Verlag. This book is a rewritten and updated version of the book “A Brief History of Blood and lymphatic Vessels” by A. Bikfalvi published in 2016.
This book provides a comprehensive account of vascular biology and pathology and its significance for health and disease. It systematically and chronologically explains how we came to our current understanding of the vasculature and it ́s function today, and describes in an entertaining way the diverse flaws and turns in science and medicine from the past. It thereby offers a complete and well-studied history on vascular biology and medicine. The book has an easy-to-read style and is written for students as well as scientists, physicians and lecturers in the field of biomedicine, human physiology, cardiology and hematology.

Our concept in Cancer seminar series will start again on February 2/ 2018.
The first seminar (February 2d) will be held by Gertraud Orend (INSERM, Strasbourg) who is a specialist of matrix proteins especially of the tenascin familiy of matrix proteins. She will talk about recent results of her research in this area.
We will have the great pleasure to welcome Michael Detmar (ETH Zurich) March 22 who is an internationally renowned investigator in the lymphangiogenesis field.
The series will continue with other top internationally renowned scientists during 2018.
